Judging
The QEPrize will be awarded by the trustees, based on a recommendation from an independent panel of distinguished, international judges.
The prize will reward an outstanding engineering-led advance that has produced tangible and widespread public benefit.
This does not mean that only ‘life-saving’ applications will be recognised: engineering shapes culture and creates culture shift; it inspires, informs, educates and entertains. Engineering helps us meet global challenges and also underpins every aspect of day-to-day life. All these factors will be considered.
The judging panel will work from the information provided in the nomination, comments from referees, and any additional information required in order to establish which nomination most fully meets the prize criteria.
If the judges recommend that more than one person should be awarded the prize, it will be shared as the trustees decide, on the advice of the judging panel.
